About Global City Forums

A private platform for city-level institutional collaboration.

Global City Forums is designed to help cities, universities, institutions, companies and researchers structure economic-development questions, working groups, research agendas and implementation pathways. It should not be presented as a government body, international organization, accredited institution or operating forum network beyond the relationships and forum records that are actually documented.

Mission

Create a disciplined environment where city-level economic questions can be studied, discussed and translated into defined institutional actions using evidence, local participation and transparent governance.

Operating principle

A forum is not active because a city appears on a website. Active status requires a real responsible host, documented governance, an authorized launch record and permission to publish the relationship.

Institutional positioning

Independent private initiative

Global City Forums operates as a private initiative/platform. No INGO, government, intergovernmental, academic-accreditation or public-authority status is implied unless such status is separately established and published with evidence.

Non-affiliation

References to cities, universities, international institutions or economic forums do not imply affiliation, endorsement, membership or partnership unless the specific relationship is authorized and current.

Evidence-led status

Candidate cities, forming forums, active forums, hosts, participants and research outputs should each have their own governed status and supporting record.

Governance model

Local institutions keep their own authority.

Universities, governments, companies, associations and research institutions retain their own legal identity, governance and decision authority. Participation in a forum does not transfer that authority to Global City Forums.

Platform role

Structure the collaboration.

GCF can provide a city framework, forum operating model, participation pathways, research structure, working-group architecture and shared digital workspace where those capabilities are activated.

Start with a real city or institution.

Use the city framework to evaluate the market, host institution, governance and next step without implying an existing partnership.
